We LOVE Our Rangers! (Day 3)
Today I had a fun day at Ranger's Ballpark with my 2 oldest boys. Our whole family LOVES the Ranger's and normally we go to as many games as given the opportunity. However, since Daniel had his crisis in April just before baseball season started, I have not had an opportunity to go to a game. Until today. And as there motto has been all year "It was time". This was what Drew had wanted to do for his birthday and we finally made it happen. And it was fun!
We made a poster for our outing last night. It read, "Make us glad Big Bad Vlad...Hit it here!". The boys wanted to sit in the center field home run bleachers...so this was perfect for a Vladdy homerun. Before we left this morning I took some pictures of my three boys in their Ranger's gear and with our sign. Here are our pictures from today with Daniel...

And here are some of the pictures from the game. We were with our dear friends and had a really great time. Our sign got me (the boys were off playing at the sportspark) up on the Jumbo Tron. And then a few innings later Sammy's dancing got him up on the Jumbo Tron for a FEW minutes. People were cheering him on, as he was dancing like a crazy man! So fun!!

It all ended with a Ranger's win! We hope to see more of that as the Ranger's start their postseason play next week! You can be sure that we will be cheering them on!!

A Day in the Life of Daniel- Day 2
Tuesday's are gymnastics days for the girls. So each week, the boys and I wait and watch as the girls play, tumble, flip, jump and run around. Today's picture(s) are from our hour at gymnastics. The photo of Sam being goofy and Daniel grinning like a champ was today's winner. Each pose was very typical of their true personalities, that is why I chose it as our picture of the day.

Some other fun shots from our afternoon...
Daniel was kicking and wrestling with me, which was making me laugh as Sam tried to take our picture...

And finally all three of my boys...

This is how the boys and I spend most every Tuesday afternoon. I want to remember.

A Day in the Life of Daniel- Day 1
Today I am starting a new "journal" called "A Day in the Life of Daniel". Daniel has been diagnosed as having idiopathic primary pulmonary hypertension. There is no cure for this disease. The drug therapies that Daniel takes, are only helpful for prolonging his life and helping him to have a good quality of life. Until recently we were unsure as to whether Daniel's pulmonary hypertension was being caused by one of many underlying problems. His last cardiac cath. told us this is not the case. For all of the details on this you can read Daniel's caring bridge site. A link is at the side of this page.
As you can imagine our hearts are broken and yet we want to enjoy the days and time that we do have with our precious boy. That is why I have chosen to do "A Day in the Life of Daniel". My goal is 1000 days. So for the next 3+ years, Lord willing, I am going to record a picture or video clip of our little buddy. We know that the Lord could have him live to be 87, to which my big boys have said that I will be going over to Daniel's house when I am 119 to take the daily snapshot. :-) Oh, how I do hope this is the case. But unless the Lord would choose to miraculously heal our little boy, Daniel's disease is terminal. Seeing him reach age 5 would be a gift! I surely hope he surpasses all numbers and expectations, but knowing what we know we want to live life intentionally. We want to remember each day we are given. Our family blog seemed like the natural place to record this.
Today's picture is how I found my man and little guy when I returned from a run. Brent was reading Isaiah to Daniel and Daniel was happy to see me (not that he wasn't enjoying daddy's reading too!) Such a sweet boy and SO easy to make smile.

Twas' the Night Before School
Twas' the night before school and all through the room,
There were tasks to be done so the students could bloom
The teacher was scurrying around place to place,
To finish preparing at a quite frantic pace
The mom was the teacher, the students her kids,
She prepared their boxes of supplies topped with lids

She organized their books, their pencils, their pens
And even arranged all craft supplies in their own neat bins

The desks were ready, but wait just a second!
She almost forgot to lay out each child's present

With presents set out and chairs all lined up
It was time to think carefully how to fill each child's cup

There was knowledge to gain and wisdom from above
So she ferventley prayed each student would feel loved
That they might know Jesus and love Him the best,
This is just what they need to pass every test!
Her greatest desire is to see them love God,
More than shoes or toys or a fancy Hot Rod
Oh how she prays, they would number their days,
So that they truly would learn to walk in His way
With all of that said, she wants you to know,
That this is her heart and not just for show
She hopes this is the best year yet,
To be more blessed she could not get
So goodnight dear classroom, she looks forward to the hours,
they will spend learning, reading and building some towers

Thankful she is for Jesus, God's Son
Who will walk with them tomorrow as the school year's begun
