Twas' the Night Before School

Twas' the night before school and all through the room,
There were tasks to be done so the students could bloom

The teacher was scurrying around place to place,
To finish preparing at a quite frantic pace

The mom was the teacher, the students her kids,
She prepared their boxes of supplies topped with lids

She organized their books, their pencils, their pens
And even arranged all craft supplies in their own neat bins

The desks were ready, but wait just a second!
She almost forgot to lay out each child's present

With presents set out and chairs all lined up
It was time to think carefully how to fill each child's cup

There was knowledge to gain and wisdom from above
So she ferventley prayed each student would feel loved

That they might know Jesus and love Him the best,
This is just what they need to pass every test!

Her greatest desire is to see them love God,
More than shoes or toys or a fancy Hot Rod

Oh how she prays, they would number their days,
So that they truly would learn to walk in His way

With all of that said, she wants you to know,
That this is her heart and not just for show

She hopes this is the best year yet,
To be more blessed she could not get

So goodnight dear classroom, she looks forward to the hours,
they will spend learning, reading and building some towers

Thankful she is for Jesus, God's Son
Who will walk with them tomorrow as the school year's begun
