1000 Days

If you have been with us since we had the hope of being given 1000 days with Daniel, this past Sunday marked the 1000th day.  Of course now I want one thousand more!!  And I will pray we get them.  But wow.  At the time it was a "long shot " in the eyes of the medical community.  And here we are.  Although I did not achieve the picture/video snap shot each day, I do think we have treasured the time we have been given...which was the whole point!  And I have taken much video and many, many, many pictures along the way.   A Day in the Life of Daniel has continued to be a day with much adversity and sometimes crisis situations, but man does our little boy know how to laugh.  In fact, very few days have passed where we have not heard that belly laugh.  And not one day has passed where we did not see him smile...unless sedation or being on the ventilator prevented him from doing so.  He is an amazing little boy.  And we all love him so.  Thank you for praying, encouraging and cheering him on...will you do it for 1000 more days?

I know Daniel would love to have them.

A 2 Night Sleepover

It has been so much fun having our friend Lily spend the past couple of days with us.  The girls love her so much.  Today they played non-stop...there was a movie in the morning, a puppet show, a tea party, a fashion show of sorts, another movie, lunch, a game, a fort, a pajama party, tag, pool time, backyard fun with the hose, sonic dinner, another movie and when I prayed with them at 10pm...they were all sleeping before I finished.  So cute.  And so fun!  Here are some of the pictures I snapped throughout the day...

They must have done this at least 50 times...probably part of the reason why they were sleeping before I could finish praying.  :-)

This one is my favorite...
Sweet girls.  Fun times.  Thank you Jesus!

Tournament Winners!

Sam's team finished their season this weekend by going 5-0 in their last tournament!!  Woohoo!!  They played fantastic and were so fun to watch.  What a great way this was to end their season of baseball.  So awesome!!  Here are some of the fantastic pictures my friend Audra (who is also a professional photographer) took this weekend...

Sam pitched the entire 2nd game and threw a 14-0 shut out...

After the spikes won the championship game, the two teams came together and prayed.  Never do I tire of this.  What an awesome way to end a game...

The Spikes 2013 Spring Baseball Team

WOOOOHOOO!!!!!  Great job Spikes!!
And I am not going to lie, as busy as these baseball tournaments make our lives...they are also one of the things I enjoy the most.  Drew has one tournament left, and then we will wait for some fall ball.   But spring baseball is my favorite, and I look forward to when they will start playing again.  Great job Sam!!  And congratulations to the 10U Texas Spikes!!  :-)

Father's Day

The kids and I always have a fun time picking our presents and cards for daddy.  This year we spotted this "Hot Sauce" Basket as we were ordering a Golf Bag of Goodies for my dad.  Sam and I thought we should definitely order one for Brent as he loves hot sauce on pretty much everything and it was sports themed!!

We also found some great cards this year, my favorite being a chipmunk (?) who plays a song for dad with his GE-TAR.  It's the perfect Brent card if there ever was one.  :)

The other cards were sweet too and we also got daddy some new running/playing baseball clothes.

Here he is with the whole crew...
And he enjoyed all of the cards too...

Happy, happy Father's Day Brent!  Our kids sure are blessed to call you "Daddy".

State Tournament

Drew's team had the 1st 2 games of their state Tournament today.  They won their first pool play game and the 2nd game was forfeited by the other team, so they are off to a great start!  Sam has 2 games tomorrow and then on Sunday both of them will play until they lose, which could potentially mean up to 10 games between the boys if their teams do well!!  It makes for a busy, H-O-T Sunday!!

Here are some action shots of Drew...

Looking forward to watching more baseball as the weekend continues.  :-)  I love to watch you play Drew.

Last Day of School

Yesterday was our last day of school for the 2012-13 school year. So this past week was spent finishing books, tying up loose ends and sharing some of our hard work with the class and daddy.

For their final project on our year long study of "Land Animals of the 6th Day", Drew and Sam had to choose any animal, write a report to share with everyone, and put together a poster board to go along with their presentation.  Drew chose to do his on alligators...

...afterall they have been his favorite animal since he was 4 years old!  :)

This is a picture Drew made of an Albino Alligator...

Sam chose to do his presentation lions...

And here is his picture...

They both did a fantasic job!  Daddy had some questions when they were finished each time!

For every chapter we read in our science book, I would have the girls choose an animal to draw a picture of and write or copy a couple of sentences about them.  I am making it into their animal book, but this week they each shared one of their favorites with us.

Abby shared her elephant...

And Lizzy shared her picture of a Cheetah...

For kindergarten, I have had each of the kids memorize 26 verses...singing the word from A to Z.  They then write them in a scrapbook and decorate each page with stickers that start with that letter of the alphabet.  Abby chose 5 of her favorites to share and sing with us...

And here is my 2012-2013 class...they are officially now 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, Fifth Grade and Seventh Grade.  They are growing up so fast!

I am so proud of each of you!!  Have a great Summer Vacation!!!  :-)
