5K Training

Our whole family is getting ready for the Run for PHun 5K in a couple of weeks.

Today I ran 1.7 miles with Abby...

I ran 2.4 miles with Lizzy...

And I ran a 5K with Drew, Sam and their buddy Dylan...

I am SOOOO proud of all of them!  They are determined to run their best for Daniel.

Lizzy had the quotes of the day.  When we first started running she said, "Mom I really hope with the money they get from the race that they find a medicine to make Daniel better."

Me too, Lizzy, me too.

And later she said, "I am getting tired, but think about how tired Daniel gets with his backpack on and how hard it is for him to walk, I can TOTALLY do this for him!"

And when we were finished she said, "At the end I told the Lord I am so tired, and the Lord is so amazing because when I told him that he just made think in my mind that I was not tired and so I finished.  And I finished even faster than I started."

I think Lizzy learned what Isaiah 40:31 means today.  And I love that.  May it be true for us all.

 "Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings as eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary."
