Wow! I cannot believe that Abby is 5! That means that this blog is 5 years old as well, as I started it shortly after she was born. We had just moved to Texas and found out that our sweet baby girl would need to have a big neurosurgery to correct sagittal synostosis. And so I started this blog to keep in touch with family and friends back "home". We moved to Texas when Abby was just 10 days old and did not consider Texas to be our home as we thought we would only live here while Brent attended Dallas Seminary. Little did we know that Texas would indeed become our home, not by our choosing, but by circumstances orchestrated by our Heavenly Father. God gave us Daniel and that sweet boy has changed a lot of what we thought we would be doing, but I know that God knew this all along. It gives me great peace being able to rest in that.
So here is our 5 YEAR OLD!!
She really wanted the Rapunzel Wedding dress. If you remember, last year she asked for the Cinderella Wedding dress (worn by Lizzy in this picture :)). My girls LOVE to dream of their weddings.
We had a little party for Abby and some of her friends joined us for lunch, cake, piñata and swimming...
Abby gave it all she had...
In the end, after 11 rounds, it was Lizzy who knocked open the piñata...
Grandma was here to celebrate with ABBY as well!!
The night of her birthday she wanted to go bowling! This is always a fun family outing. This time Brent beat all of us by 75 points! We all had a fun time. Thankfully grandma was there to entertain Daniel...as he was not into bowling!!
Happy, happy birthday sweet Abby!! I love you so much and am thankful God chose me to be your mommy! As much as I do not like you getting so old, I LOVE watching you grow up.
