Saturday Baseball

Saturday morning was the first games of the season for both Drew and Sam.  They both played at 8am at baseball fields that were 25 miles away from each other.  So some dear friends of ours picked up Drew (their son is on his team) and dropped off their sweet daughter Haylie to help me watch the 3 little ones at Sam's game (As Brent was working).   Here is a picture of I snapped of Drew before he headed out...

And here are some photographs of Sam at his first game of the season...

Sammy hit 2 triples that first game and played a great first base.  He gave us lots to cheer for!!  :)  What a fun way for him to start the season.

The girls find many ways to entertain themselves at the baseball games.  One of their favorites on Saturday was a clover patch that they used to have "Celebrations!" and throw handfuls of green clovers in the air...

And Daniel, well,  he hung out in the wagon for a long while Saturday morning.  He played cards, read books, did puzzles, drove cars and threw everything out at least 10 times!  :-) Here is is throwing the cards out...
It was SO windy...his hair was all over the place...

He just loved when he got one on one attention from Haylie...

Lizzy also caught a big grasshopper...if you look closely you can see it on her sleeve...

And of course we had many snacks and juice boxes and gatorade while we watched some baseball...

Three sweet girls.

Saturday proved to be very bittersweet.  We had such a sweet morning at the ball fields.  Never would I have suspected that just a few hours later Sam would be playing with Daniel and he would suddenly be blue and unresponsive.  Praise God he is okay.  But it was a hard afternoon and night to say the least.  God is so compassionate and merciful though, our neighbors kept the big kids and my sweet neighbor even washed the boys white baseball pants so they would be ready for their games on Sunday.  He has always provided such wonderful care, using many different people along the way.  For each one we are grateful.

I am so happy that baseball season is back in full swing.  I love to watch my boys play ball.
