A Heart for the Fatherless

Our Lizzy has such a heart for the orphans of the world.  About a year ago I shared these pictures...

And I wrote about what she was doing here..."A Heart for the Orphans"

Well, she has never stopped.  She continues to make things to sell.  She continues to ask nearly every guest that enters our home if they would like to put some change or dollar bills in her orphan jar.  I do not think anyone has turned her down.  :)  This fall she had a lemonade stand with her brothers and sisters to raise money for our friends The Harrison's who are adopting two sweet babies from China and bringing them home, hopefully REALLY soon!

Her orphan jar is once again pretty full and all of the proceeds will be heading to the Harrison Family. You can read all about their adoption journey here http://harrisonadoption.blogspot.com.  And you can help bring their babies home too, just by shopping at Amazon through their website.

Maybe you could start an orphan jar with your spare change?  It is a pretty easy way to make a difference in the life of the fatherless.  And there are many great organizations you can give your collected change (or dollar bills) to that will make sure your money is used to help orphans.  Compassion, World Vision, Sweet Sleep, or The Harrison's are a great place to start.

Lizzy, I love you and your sweet heart for others.  Thank you for encouraging our family to pray for and help those kids that do not have a mommy or a daddy of their own.  Keep up the good work sweet girl!

Lizzy we do so love your heart for the orphans-we still have the books you made for us and they are a reminder to pray and do for the many children who do now have moms and dads here on earth to care for them. We love also how you have taken your compassion for these children and responded by doing so many wonderful things to raise money for them. Thanks for your faithfulness! Love, Grandpa and Grandma Z
